Guardian Logistics Solutions Expands Operations with Move to 103,200-Square-Foot Facility in Durham
Durham, NC – Guardian Logistics Solutions is on the move — literally. As part of the company’s continued growth, Guardian has signed a lease for 103,200 square feet at Welcome Venture Park, a new industrial development on Hamlin Road in Durham, NC.
The relocation marks a 29% increase in warehouse space compared to GLS’s current 80,000-square-foot warehouse at Whilden Industrial Centre. The additional space will support increased storage capacity and expanded trucking operations, following Guardian’s recent acquisition of Cargo-Link of Raleigh. The combined operation will consolidate into the new facility beginning in June 2025.
“We were looking for a location that could accommodate our continued growth and position us for the future,” said Brent Smith, CEO of Guardian Logistics Solutions. “Welcome Venture Park is the perfect fit.”
Guardian’s move in Durham is part of a broader growth strategy across the Southeast. The company recently opened a new 180,000-square-foot facility in Charlotte, expanded its Charleston, SC warehouse from 95,000 to 145,000 square feet, and increased its Greer, SC location from 42,000 to 97,000 square feet. These investments reflect Guardian’s commitment to building scalable infrastructure to meet growing demand across key regional markets.
Guardian’s commercial real estate advisor, Andrew Young of Colliers, played a pivotal role in the Durham transaction, introducing Guardian to the new industrial park and guiding the lease process. Additional support came from Colliers Raleigh’s Industrial Services team, including Larry Lakins, Hunter Willard, and Shields Bennett.
The new facility in Durham will house 40 employees, with Guardian’s total headcount reaching 115 across the Southeast. Guardian was recently named one of Inc. Magazine’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Guardian joins a growing roster of tenants at Welcome Venture Park — now 84% leased in its first 400,000-square-foot phase. Other tenants include Cavalier Logistics and The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Developer Welcome Group, based in Houston, plans to ultimately build out more than 1 million square feet of industrial space at the site.
Stay tuned for more updates as Guardian Logistics continues to grow and invest in best-in-class logistics solutions across the Southeast.
